You’ll be home for Christmas

The holidays have come to Fredericksburg! In our last two posts, we’ve given you some great ideas on what’s going on around our area during the Christmas season. We want to make sure you get your fill of sligh bells, snowflakes, and the jolly old Saint Nick.

You’ve seen a list of a few holiday events going on in the San Antonio and Austin areas, and now we’re bringing you a few ideas of things to do in our very own Fredericksburg.

On Dec. 11-12, The Christmas Journey begins. The journey is a short drive through presentation of the Christmas story featuring special lighting, music, effects, and live characters. This show is a Christmas gift to the community from Bethany Lutheran Church.

Fredericksburg Trade Days will begin Dec. 18-20. This fun shopping experience is perfect for some last minute holiday gift buying. You’ll be able to find all kinds of unique gifts and maybe even some last minute holiday decorations to brighten up your home while the family is gathered. Over 350 vendors will be present, offering antiques, collectibles, tools, crafts, primitives, furniture, clothing, jewelry and more. The Trade Days are scheduled for the third weekend of every month.

On Dec. 19, we’re looking forward to the Luckenbach Christmas Ball with Gary P. Nunn. Grab your boots and get ready to get down at a Texas style Christmas Ball. Guests can enjoy live music and dancing beginning at 7 p.m. Who wouldn’t love a night out dancing and celebrating the holiday season?
Dec. 20, we will be attending the 46th Annual LBJ Christmas Tree Lighting. Join the Texas Hill Country in this tradition which started 46 years ago by President and Mrs. Johnson. Visitors will enjoy carolers, a live nativity, Santa Claus, refreshments and the spectacular tree lighting. Visitors can also view the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm and enjoy special German cookies and cakes while seeing glowing lanterns and a traditional candlelit German Christmas tree. This one of our most favorite local holiday events to attend. You won’t want to miss it!
