The Season of Love

The season of love is here and we are so excited for all the chocolates and flowers! Not to mention, everyone will be in a good mood because love is the air and there’s no avoiding it. Even if you don’t have a significant other this year, for whatever reason, there’s still a reason to celebrate: love. Love isn’t just about a special someone, it’s about all the special people in your life.

We’ve got a month full of festive events to remind you why you should spread the love around this Valentine’s Day.

Friday, Feb. 12, begins our Chocolate Lovers weekend. Who could resist that?! Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, chocolate with almonds, chocolate with peanut butter; there’s literally a chocolate for everyone. Valentine’s Day crafts and an oreo stacking contest will be held Saturday, along with the a chance to eat chocolate in the best possible way: in a s’more! The bonfire will take place at 6 p.m., right before the feature film at Jellystone Theater.

The following weekend, beginning Feb. 19, we are hosting a Dance It Up weekend, where you can dance your heart out! The weekend after that, we have something a little more adult planned for those of you who can drink. Our Wine Tasting Weekend will be full of tasty varietals and great conversations, and there will even be some crafts and and games to keep the little ones entertained.

So what’s going around here for Valentine’s Day?

Of course, the many vineyards out in the Texas Hill Country would make for a great Valentine’s Day surprise, with wine tastings and pairings, you can’t go wrong! But there are a few other fun events coming up this weekend that you might not want to miss out on.

Texas First Friday Artwalk is scheduled for Feb. 5 and this cultural event is quickly becoming a beloved tradition of our quaint little town. Participating galleries are open until 8 p.m for a self-guided tour. Visitors can meet the artists while taking in each art exhibit, live music, and wine from several local wineries.

Hug In! Friday night dance with Dale Watson and Luckenbach Texas Valentines Ball with Gary P. Nunn, held Feb. 12 and 13.  This is a musical event you won’t want to miss! Camp out on Friday night and see Dale Watson and Gary P. Nunn on Saturday. If you don’t feel like roughing it with your sweetie, just check out one show or the other!
