Just up the road, the city of Llano may be one of the most festive little towns around. From touring the  lighted Christmas parks to snow sledding, Llano has enough Christmas spirit for everyone. Check out a few of our favorite annual traditions below!

Starry Starry Nights

Starting the Friday after Thanksgiving and running through the end of December, Llano’s Starry Starry Nights festival lights up the night sky with hundreds of twinkling lights and animated displays. The lights follow along the Llano River and wind all the way through the Christmas Park making the entire town merry and bright. The park opens every night at 6pm and offers hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting on the fire.

Reindeer Run

Rudolph isn’t the only one dashing through the snow this year. Dasher, Dancer and many others come together every year for Llano’s Reindeer Run. Starting at 9 am on at the Llano Train Depot, the 5k race takes place on December 5th and benefits the Llano Chamber of Commerce and Meals on Wheels.

Snow Day

While snow may not come often in Texas, don’t let that stop you from having a snow day. Llano’s Badu Park transforms every winter into a snowy wonderland offering tubing down the hills, making snowmen and enjoying tons of tasty treats and delicious drinks. And don’t forget about Santa! The big man in red makes his appearances every year as well! Snow Day this year will be held on December 14th from 1pm – 9pm and wristbands are only $5.
